Dr. Leonel Pereznieto began his teaching assignments at the UNAM. From 1973 to 1980 he was a fulltime researcher within the Institute of Legal Investigations of the Mexican National University (UNAM). From 1972 he began his teaching career as a Faculty Professor within the Faculty of Law at the UNAM and in 1976 he became a fulltime professor. In 1973 he joined the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM (FCPyS) as a professor, helping develop the legal area within the specialty of International Relations. (In 1980 he became a full time professor within the Legal Faculty) In 1974 he participated in the first restructuring of plans and programs of study within the legal area. During the past 36 years, Dr. Pereznieto Castro along with other teachers, achieved today’s legal curriculum to be broader and now students study subjects previously not studied and that are basic, such as Constitutional Law and Introduction to the Study of Law and achieved as well for subjects such as Public and Private International law, to be taught with a modern concept.
